User-Generated Content
- Ghost stories, blog posts, and associated images
- Haunted location tips, reviews, ratings, and uploaded photos
- Chat messages and media shared in squads and direct messages
Purchase Information
- Subscription plan and status
- Transaction identifiers (payment processing is handled by Apple and Google)
We do not collect sensitive data such as health information, biometric data, or financial information (e.g., credit card numbers).

We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- App Functionality: To provide, maintain, and improve the App, including user accounts, content publishing, messaging, and location features.
- Analytics & Improvement: To understand how users interact with the App, diagnose issues, and improve user experience.
- Location Services: To calculate distances between you and haunted locations presented in the App.
- Communications: To send push notifications about relevant activity such as story approvals, comments, and squad updates.
- Safety & Moderation: To investigate reports, enforce our terms, and maintain a safe environment.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with third parties only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use third-party services to operate the App (see Section 8). These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.
- User-Generated Content: Content you publish (stories, location tips, reviews) is visible to other App users. Chat messages are visible to participants in the conversation.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Company, our users, or the public.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on our servers and with our third-party service providers. Local data on your device (such as cached messages and drafts) is encrypted. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your user account is active. Chat messages, content submissions, and associated media are retained for moderation and safety purposes. If you delete your account, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate safety purposes.

- Access and Update: You can access and update your personal information within the App.
- Delete Account: You can delete your account through the App or by submitting a request at ghosthub.io/delete-my-data. Deletion will be processed within 30 days.
- Data Portability: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase: Analytics, push notifications, and crash reporting.
- Amplitude: Product analytics and session insights.
- Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting.
- AppsFlyer: Attribution and deep linking.
- Google Maps & Geocoding: Location services and address lookup.
- Google, Apple, and Facebook Authentication: Social sign-in.
Each of these services may collect certain data as described in their respective privacy policies. Some services may collect and use location data or device identifiers for analytics purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
Our App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such data.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via a popup in the App on startup. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes.
